E.g. Mousakka. The soul-warming Mousakka is one of Greece’s most famous traditional dishes. It is comprised of layers of fried creamy eggplant, chunky potato slices, and succulent lamb mince in a tomato and herb sauce. The final layer is then covered with béchamel sauce and grated cheese and baked in the oven until it turns crispy golden brown.

E.g. Kheema mattar curry. My mum used to treat me to a curry down in Manchester's curry mile, a road crammed full of Indian curry and sweet houses. Back then the goto curry for me was the Kheema curry. Kheema basically means ground meat and in India that would typically be goat or lamb.
There are two traditional variations. One is Aloo (potato) Kheema and the other Kheema Mattar (green peas). I loved both which is surprising as I used to hate peas as a kid.
Both curries have a lovely gravy formed by the meat's juices slowly cooking in caramelized onions and spices such as cinnamon, cardamon and cumin. Perfect to be mopped up with a plateful of chapatti.
